Cold Water Thrown on Simmering Trig Hoax Allegations?

UK’s Daily Mail posts a photo of Sarah at her Dallas speech that shows her with “not only a pregnant stomach but a visibly fuller face and breasts, all signs of late pregnancy.” Case closed, say they.

Hey, none of the pictures of Sarah pregnant-or-not with Trig is the Zapruder film. None of them proves anything. At most, people can use them to support the opinion they already have. I just learned today, for example, that a couple of Brits spotted about-to-be princess Kate Middleton’s face on a mango jelly bean. Truth is as the eye of the beholder sees it.

But a mainstream backlash is developing against impudent suggestions that questions about Trig’s birth are legitimate. MSM news and opinion site Slate (owned by Washington Post Co.) posts an article headlined “Occam’s Razor Says Sarah Palin Is Trig’s Mother.”

Who doesn’t like Occam’s Razor? This is a philosophical principle posited by a 14th Century Franciscan friar called William of Ockham. It says, bottom line, that when there are varying explanations of an occurrence, the simplest is most likely to be true. In this instance, Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig. Period. End of story. That’s the simplest explanation. Occam says, “No story here, move along now.”

But as I just mentioned in a Twitter post, Occam never got to Wasilla. If he had, he might have thrown away his razor and grown a beard.

  • Rascal:

Sarah had a fuller face (and body) back then. She started living on Red Bull during the campaign in ’08 and began losing weight.

  • Fig:

Rascal is right. Not only did Sarah have a fuller face back then, she might have recognized the need to put on a few pounds to help the illusion. It would not be hard to gain 10 pounds during an alaskan winter & have a lot of it soften up your features (especially compared to how bony she is now).

I don’t need pics of her looking pregnant to “prove she was with child… those are very fakeable with a pregnant belly. I need explanations to the flat belly pics that have popped up over the past few years, and the videos that show her leaning forward, and standing up easily, and statements from those flight attendants as to how they missed she was in labor.

  • FrostyAK:

Occam is ever so wrong in this case of the narcissistic sociopath who once play at being Governor of AK – until she quit. One wonders why she never threatens to sue when the TriG ‘truther’ story pops up? She threatens to sue for most everything else. This isn’t going away….

    http://www.lauranovakauthor.com/1/post/2011/04/sarah-palin-and-the-professor-a-conversation.html

She has now accused Shawn Cristy (on the East Coast) of stalking and threatening rape of her kids… again. And has AGAIN requested a restraining order against him and his family. She claims he was calling her. She and Brisdull testified under oath at the “hacker trial” that they don’t HAVE a land line phone. Just another bright shiny distraction to deflect attention away from the TriG story. Joe, wasn’t she insinuating something nearly as nefarious and ridiculous about you?

  • Sally:

They haven’t seen the picture from her FIRST pregnancy where she was HUGE. Women do not generally get smaller with each subsequent pregnancy. I gained 40 pounds with my first (8 pounds, 10 ounces) and 50 pounds with my second (11 pounds, 6 ounces.) Are there any photos of her pregnant with any of the girls, or were those a hoax as well?

  • 12eagle:

Slate has this all backwards, the fact is Sarah Palin did NOT give birth to Trig until proven otherwise.. It’s as simple as that

  • Chickadee:

It’s the photo of her being huge in the first pregnancy that is the clincher for me, personally. No way, no how does a woman look like that for baby #1 and look like she did in March of ’08 for baby #5.

  • wildalaskandingbat:

In the Dallas Speech photo, she was also wearing a coat that made her look like she has the shoulders of a linebacker. I don’t know about other women, but pregnancy did not add three inches of shoulder width to my physique. And really, how many pregnant women do you know who aren’t uncomfortably warm? I went through two Alaskan pregnancies and I can tell you that at 7 months pregnant in January, the only time I wore a jacket was outdoors. What’s the average temperature in Dallas in mid-April anyway? Why the constant coat wearing after the announcement of the pregnancy to the media?

  • SME:

That is exactly the point I made earlier. You might not get big with the first one but will will later ones, and if you’re BIG with the first one you will be as big or bigger with each one after that. And let’s not forget she had a tubal.

  • Ferry Fey:

While that photo of the Dallas meeting the Daily Mail uses may show Sarah’s face looking fuller due to her expression, a close-up taken at the same session by the same photographer (Hinnant) shows her face to be more slender than that. (Corbis 42-20739608). Contrary to their assertion, we don’t see anything of her breasts, and her stomach — and perhaps a fake belly — is hidden by her jacket and scarf. We know that the airline crew on both legs of the trip and a man she met in the airport lounge did not realize she was pregnant.

Slate’s Rachael Larimore appears to base much of her opinion that Trig was born in April as claimed because of pictures showing him being “slumpy and cuddly and not holding himself up,” apparently unaware that Down Syndrome children characteristically have hypotonia, poor muscle tone. Larimore does not understand that while proportionally more Down Syndrome babies are in the group of babies with older mothers, the infertility of women in their forties is so much greater that most Down Syndrome children are indeed born to younger mothers.

There’s now a couple of years of extensive research assembling photos of Sarah’s alleged pregnancy (comparing her changing shapes both to her own confusing shifts and to other normal pregnacies), timelines, bizarre contradictory statements, and troubling silences. There’s Sarah’s history of vindictive retaliation against those who she feels have wronged her, and her continuing habit of compulsive lying. There are the red flags about the obstetric and neo-natal birth stories that bring the stories out of the realm of “odd” and into the realm of criminal negligence and medical malpractice.

The current feeding frenzy of those news outlets who are suddenly taking a look at the issue appears to be based on superficial understanding, goofy opinions, and the throwing around of lazy buzzwords like “conspiracy theories” and Occam’s Razor. And I’ll lump your non-nutritive fillers about Zapruder and jellybean pareidolia in with the lazy and goofy categories too.

The bottom line is this: there is not one iota of definitive, verifiable corroboration that Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig, and a lot of circumstantial evidence that she did not.

  • 1Guest2You:

She obviously wore her pregnancy belly – the one that comes complete with fake breasts. A couple of hours after this picture was taken, flight attendants on Alaska Airlines did not notice that she was pregnant. Neither did a fellow traveler who observed her sitting in the Seattle terminal reading a book.

  • Polly:

… Some pregnant women may stay relatively small up to their fifth month of pregnancy, however, they absolutely increase their bustlines by couple of cup sizes. Sarah never ever gains any weight in her boobs. —

  • Viva:

That photo was taken hours before Alaska Airlines staff noted “the stage of her pregnancy was not apparent by observation” and less than a day before another passenger felt obliged to email an apology to Mrs Palin for not having noticed her ‘condition’ during the stopover in Seattle en route to Alaska (she appeared to him to be calmly reading a book).

So: she ‘appeared’ obviously pregnant at lunch-time at the conference in Texas – but later in the day, en route to Alaska, nobody had a clue? How come?

  • Dis Gusted:

she gained weight in the boobs when she went to the races….ROFL

Surprised she didn’t claim TriG’s birth was a MIRACLE considering she’d been ‘fixed’ for years.

  • Shesafrequentliar:

Occam’s Razor works the other way with all things Palin.
Occam’s Razor does not make lies and conspiracies impossible.
Any tool can be misused by the incompetent.

Occam’s razor properly applied would look at all the evidence that surrounds the ‘pregnancy’ that supposedly birthed a child to the Governor on April 18 2008 and the simplest explanation is clear: This story is way too complicated and requires too many people to be stunned with surprise ( What? She’s nearly ready to give birth? I didn’t even know she was pregnant!” ) to be the simplest explanation. Then add in the rest of the evidence.
Occam’ Razor says there is something significantly wrong with the story as presented.

Ask a detective or an experienced officer. How many proven lies before everything a witness or suspect says is under suspicion? How many lies does it take about material facts to move from the witness list to the suspect list? When they are investigating anything , they check for proof of truth before suspecting that something is true.

Here is all an astute observer needs to see. A provable lie about a material fact, where the gain from perpetrating the lie is clear.

“Todd was NOT in the Alaskan Independence Party.” Is just one of many examples.

Expect that almost everyone taking a quick and careless look at this Palin fiasco will think they are an instant expert. If they don’t know the history and the players (and who they are related to ) they are going to be ill informed and get things wrong.

  • Shesafrequentliar:

The Occam’s Razor post wasn’t appreciated much judging by the comments.

  • I really don’t understand why people are so stubborn to accept that a female politician would use any means possible to attain higher office and all the perks and power that come with it. We are so unused to female politicians, that we are still innocent to the tools they may introduce to the web of corruption surrounding elections – the reproductive abilities of females, perfectly suited to win pro-choice, pro-family values conservative votes.

Throughout history politicians have used anything available – money, power, contacts, their families, corrupt schemes, vote stealing, probably bribary, extortion and you name it to grab power. So a female politician used a scheme involving someone else’s special needs child to secure higher office through the pro-life voting block. It’s not that astounding at all really.

  • Beaglemom:

I suspect that the Occam’s Razor author did not look at the “perfidy” videos available at Politicalgates. I think the simple explanation is that Bristol was pregnant, the baby could not be adopted or she refused to allow it, so Sarah in her infinite idiocy decided not to announce the situation to the world but to fake a pregnancy. Otherwise, how do you explain the fact that, once she announced her “pregnancy” to the public, she dressed as if she were hiding something. Pregnant women do not do that. And the thumping of the square-pillow- tummy in the taped interview, when she was bragging about her abdominal muscles, is just not something that a pregnant woman does. And the photos, beginning with all the scrubbing (what was that about?), and then the ones that remained tell a story. And then, there’s the “wild ride” . . . . I think that, for someone with the mindset of Sarah Palin, faking a pregnancy made perfect sense. The truth would have made much more sense to me. People would have rallied, offered support because this kind of situation can arise in any family. She did the opposite of what she should have done. Even William of Occam would have understood that.

  • CariboBarbie Palin:

I know this is off topic, but very important. There’s no limit to the length the Paliban at C4P will go in their effort to make Sarah seem relevant.

    http://punchumgum.wordpress.co

I’m surprised the Palinban is smart enough to follow the detailed instructions given for computer hacking cheating.

  • True Blue Girl:

One “proof” put forth is that Governor Goodhair (our very own Rick Perry) joked about her pregnancy as she was leaving. The only mention I have seen of this is in Sarah’s own version, printed in her first book. If there is no other verification, and this has been taken as fact, then it would illustrate yet again how poorly we have vetted this woman and this issue.

Remember, within the same 24 hour period, neither multiple flight attendants OR the gentlemen in the airport (who later wrote an email) saw any evidence of her pregnancy. In the case of the flight attendants, these women would presumably be experienced enough with female passengers, pregnant women, etc to recognize what they were seeing, as pregnant women fly until their eight month typically (I did, with comments and inquiries at several points).

  • AKRNC:

The other reason the airline attendants should have observed her pregnancy was that IF she was 8 months pregnant, she was not going to be able to sit for four hours without going to the bathroom at least twice! They would have noticed a woman who was approximately 8 mos. pregnant WADDLING back and forth to the bathroom especially since they knew it was the Governor. No mention of her pregnancy by observation, no signs of normal behavior on either flight, including increased trips to bathroom to urinate and the need for a seat belt extender.

Why was nobody asking questions about her continued use of coats and scarves indoors to “hide” her pregnancy AFTER it was revealed to the world? The one thing I remember about every pregnancy was increased body heat. This is why those of us with legitimate, intelligent questions are aggravated with the media. They completely dropped the ball on this rather than ask the necessary questions. Considering this woman may have been a heartbeat away from the leader of the free world., we deserved to know the truth about her and everything she has or hasn’t done that doesn’t add up that makes any sane person question her judgment.

  • lilly lily:

Sally Heath supposedly gave Christie her telephone number in case “he wanted to talk.”

If he was foolish enough to call, wouldn’t this sly puss say he was harrassing them? After all they sleep with a gun by their beds. (Chuck Heath on tape.)

Ya betcha they would claim he was stalking.

The whole thing with The kid in Pa is stranger than strange as he claims they initially contacted him. Or am I mistaken.

  • True Blue Girl:

Yes, and let’s keep in mind that “Desperate Housewives” had this story line in the season preceding these events, just to answer the theoretical question of “Now where in the world would someone even get an idea like that?”

  • Ella:

While the idea that Bristol is Trig’s mom is plausible, the timing necessary for a teenager to pop out two babies in such a short period is still a little difficult to make.

I think this baby is the product of someone else’s philandering that Palin desperately needed to cover up, like Todd or her other son–what’s his name? Truck or Trapper or something?

  • 12eagle:

She would also obviously have needed a seat belt extension if her belly was still the same size as it appeared in the Gusty photo. Then there was the email the day before the Texas trip where she told Ivy she wouldn’t be needing the Troopers because the “First Gentlemen” would be providing security for her

  • g:

Even if Trig is her kid, the “Wild Ride” is evidence enough of her incredibly poor judgement. I personally think she was trying to lose the baby.

  • California Dreamin':

If they lied about the birthdate of Trig (he looks like he *could* be about 6 weeks old in the hospital pics), then Bristol could very well have gotten knocked up again. Remember, she was living with her aunt in Anchorage due to an extended case of “mono” and there were rumors that she was pregnant at that time. I know for a fact that it’s possible to have two babies less than a year apart, because my brother and sister are 10 months apart.

  • climber357:

I respect Rachael Larimore´s point of view because, unlike so many others, she made an effort to look into some of the various theories surrounding Trigg´s birth. That is no small feat for anyone disinterested in this topic. On the other hand, I question why Ms Larimore did not make an equal effort to look into sarah´s version, as published in ¨Going Rogue.¨ When applied to The Wild Ride, Occam´s Razor concludes it never happened.

  • Quiet1:

It’s not quite true that women won’t be smaller with multiple pregnancies. I gained 50 lbs with my first, 25 with my second. But my pregnancy was certainly more apparent the second time around. And I don’t doubt for a minute that I’d be huge by #5.

  • Fig:

Average Temperature in Dallas in April: 56 (avg low) – 77 (average high). That is also known as 10 degrees warmer than mid July in Anchorage. She should have been roasting… especially with the transition from April in Alaska (29-46 averages). There’s this great thing called being accustomed to the temperature, which is why Texans can wear business suits in the heat. Sarah would not have been acclimatized, and should have been really uncomfortable.

  • FEDUP!!!:

Here is one site that sells a fake pregnancy belly: http://www.trixiepixgraphics.com/fake_pregnant_belly_bellies/fake_pregnancy_bellies.html

I believe it was palingates that had an even better site, but I can’t find it right now.

  • Fig:

I’m with Quiet1 here. Sarah was more looks conscious and had more to lose by being enormous with Trig, so she may have been trying harder than in the first one to stay relatively slim.

Anecdotally, I have a friend who had a really easy 1st pregnancy and gained a normal amount of weight. The second one was brutal, she had trouble keeping anything down, and put on so little weight her doctors were worried. She was tiny, but had a huge belly full of baby out in front. She showed earlier because she was so slim. She looked 9 months preggo at 7 months, cause she was nothing but belly. and fortunately, her baby turned out just fine.

All that said, what does not happen with your last child is that you do not -show- less or later. You may stay slimmer, but your skin has already been stretched, your muscles already pulled apart and stretched, so these things happen more easily the second time around. First pregnancies are relatively easy to hide for relatively long (ask a pregnant teen). Subsequent pregnanccies are not, particularly your 7th one.

  • Gordon:

If Occam had got to Wasilla, he would have slit his wrists.

  • Greg Goss:

Palin’s sister was divorced at the time, and it’s considered even more shameful for a new divorcee to be running around getting pregnant. An older mother has a higher chance of Down’s.

Palin covering for her sister has less motivation than covering for her daughter, but holding up a Down’s baby to the anti-abortion crowd is more than enough motivation to an obsessed politician.

  • LisaB:

That’s the deal: supposedly she stayed so small she could conceal the pregnancy for 7 months. That is so difficult to believe, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

But the big question is why? Why–when you’re supposedly so desperate for another child–would you keep it a secret so long? The explanation she offered is so ridiculous: “she didn’t want the Sourdoughs saying anything.” That rings so false. Why should she care what the Sourdoughs say? If she cared about what old Sourdoughs said, I bet she would have kept her female butt in the kitchen where it belonged.

I don’t know what the truth is. I only know there’s a lot of lies there somewhere.

  • k:

Why would it be hard for a teenager to pop out 2 babies so close together? I knew a girl who had one baby her junior year of high school in May of 1996, then had another baby her senior year in March of 1997, less than one year apart. It’s possible.

  • Bugsy:

Here she is on March 26, 2008, less than a month before she supposedly gave birth. You can clearly see she has something square under her blouse. First pic is original and the second has the brightness and contrast adjusted.

  • Tiger:

The reason the mainstream media never got to the bottom of babygate was because not many people can wrap their minds around the idea of a sitting governor possibly pulling off the hoax of the century. In terms of lunacy such a stunt would hit it “outta the ballpark” so to speak. In addtion, many people find it very difficult to admit that they have been hoodwinked because doing so would be admitting that they have been gullible fools. Sad.

  • truthrocks:

Exactly! Some people gain weight in their face, giving it a fuller look, when they gain weight all over.

  • shestheone:

It has never gone to mainstream media because the hands that feed Palin are so powerful they can make people disappear, records disappear, and bury stories. They are limitless in funds and the threat of getting sued by Palins to the owners of the media is such a threat that it keeps the stories supressed. That is the real tragedy and real power of Sarah Palin. The so called “msm” is owned by just a handful of people. The thought of that is so scary to the public and so surreal no one can wrap their minds around that. You do not have to agree with me, do your research and you will be surprised at who really owns the main stream media.

  • Sarah:

Disinterested means: having nothing to gain, principled, without a financial or other material interest
Uninterested is the word for not interested.

  • Joe:

I agree, but check what Ben Yagoda just wrote on Slate: http://www.slate.com/id/2290536/

  • guest:

Yes, and during long flights, a truly pregnant woman seated in coach would have been up and down the aisle to the restrooms and would certainly have been noticed by other passengers and attendants. Or, if she’d been seated in first class, she’d have been attended to by a separate flight attendant who most certainly could not have missed a pregnant passenger and who would have remembered this traveller. Honestly, folks. How did she think this story was ever going to sail? Well, I’ve answered my own question. She didn’t think any differently than she apparently has always thought. It’s all by the seat of the pants, and how dare anyone suggest anything devious.

Most people on cross-country flights are up and down numerous times. She wasn’t spotted because she’d dispensed with “the suit”.

I can maybe buy a fellow passenger ‘not noticing’ that Sarah is pregnant.

I do NOT buy that flight attendants, on FOUR flights missed it. – AK to TX and then TX to AK.

They are trained to CHECK EVERYBODY’S SEATBELT before take-off .. that is their JOB.

They look at your abdomen for that. They didn’t ‘notice’ she was pregnant, because there was no pregnant belly to notice. It was in her checked luggage, she didn’t want to go through security with it — those things must have heavy duty metal clasps, bigger than the underwire in a bra and that always sets them off. THEN you go through a secondary check.
