No, we’re not invited…

Even so, we can all wish Sarah’s parents, Chuck and Sally Heath, a Happy 50th Anniversary on July 30.

    Gee, we celebrated our 41st and don’t have any kids who are 40, 41,or42.

  • Lisabeth:

    Can you believe (yes) that Psychopath Sarah is actually STILL using her don’t retreat, reload comment. She said it more than once on Hannity tonight. There is something seriously sick in her psyche, after all the criticism, for her to keep saying it. Just like the the writing on the hands. Sarah, it isn’t cute! And it doesn’t get us wee-weed up. It just makes you look pathetic and thin skinned.
    Ever notice how Sarah or RAM in the past think they are so clever, they keep going on and on and on with something until it’s just inappropriate and annoying. Everyone but her bots and the media lapdogs roll their eyes at her! This debt thing is serious and there is Sarah trying to draw attention to herself and give economic advice. I mean she’s so knowledgeable about economics. It seems her and Bachmann know more than world renowned economists!!

  • Lisabeth:

    Oh and yeah happy anniversary. I went off a bit after seeing a tape of her on Hannity.

  • Lilylake:

    I thought the same thing – her continual use of this stale and offensive jargon is such poor judgment on her part. I knew I shouldn’t have watched it, but towards the end her deterioration into babble about “Obama can’t prioritize; he can’t “plan ahead”, that’s why we’re in this debt trouble…blah blah,” Of course he should pay Social Security, and he is “shameful” to take seniors hostage, blah, blah. She’s “not convinced yet” that not raising the debt ceiling would be a problem…..thank you, Ms. “D in Economics” idiot, for your expensive opinions.

    God, I hope Fox news goes down with Rupert, because they misinform and have been for years. IN regard to the 50th wedding anniversary party – don’t the children often give a party for their parents? Is Sarah, with her money and homes not hosting a nice party for her folks? (Oh, I know, Sarah with her busy schedule just can’t find time to get that big ole house clean for a party and call the caterers)

    Well, congratulations Sally, but it’s never too late to kick up your heels and jump ship!

  • WakeUpAmerica:

    I would say that it makes her look immature and mentally unbalanced.

  • WakeUpAmerica:

    hmmmmm. I’m wondering what is the birth date of Chuck Heath Jr.

  • Dicer:

    Is this when she plans to announce…..how sad, a collection of recycled sound bytes from all the news , Fox is sure running for cover.They trot Sarah out like the crazy aunt from the attic.Their silence speaks volume.

    Michelle Obama on Homes and Gardens Cover,a beautiful person……Sarah on Newsweak, more like the beast, and tonight, was she trying to look like Bachmann…..alert Bristol.

  • Beth deris:

    Joe, you where in Alaska. What I wonder. Murdock is being brought down piece by piece .Palin is less then 1% of Murdock, why can’t she be brought down like the likes of Murdock. Makes no sence to me. Murdock tumbles and Palin’s still standing.

  • Ratfishtim:

    He was “early” like Track Palin. I believe the Heaths were married in a Catholic church in Idaho in the summer of 1949, and Chuck jr. showed up well less than 9 months later.

    The Palin/Heath Klan is 3 generations of knocked up. Sally, Sarah, and Bristol.

  • PollyinAK:

    I’ve been scrolling around taking a look at Joe’s books. They ALL sound good, it’s going to be hard to choose which one to read first!

  • AKRNHSNC:

    I wonder who’s paying for the party? Will $arah cough up the money or demand that it be split with her siblings? Does the “no gifts, please” apply to her, too? I remember reading an article shortly after she appeared on the national scene that she was not just frugal, she was cheap! It’s easy to believe when you hear Bristol talking about how she was worried about paying for diapers, etc. Of course Bristol was still complaining about money when the custody case was heard in Alaska in 2010, with her saying there was nothing left over from her paycheck after paying for daycare, diapers, formula, etc. yet she also made $262k for the year 2009 as “reimbursement for expenses” for traveling and speaking on behalf of the Candies Foundation. I wonder if she ever paid taxes on that because there were not that many things that she attended or did for Candies to add up to even 1/4 of that amount in expenses. It was worded in that manner to enable her to not claim the income on her taxes and to hit Levi up for an outrageous amount for childcare. I’d love to be a fly on the wall at the IRS when it comes to the Palins’ tax returns.

  • Nice try, but the incapacity of your grammar will give you away every time.

  • Kimberly:

    Wow, now we know, 50 years = a poster board and a sharpie. Sally sure did marry herself a winner.

  • Sally:

    Yes, Sarah is cheap, and Bachmann now has a lot of “cchhchhchhutzpah!” No brains between the two of them, but a ton of ”’chutzpah.” Somewhere, God is laughing at letting these two be born in the same decade.

  • Ivyfree:

    It’s at the Menard house? Wow, Sarah built that compound and they have to hold her parents’ 50th at somebody else’s house. I won’t speculate on why the Menards feel so close to the Heaths.

  • Older_Wiser:

    Early Feb, 1962, slightly over 6 mos from date of marriage. 3 kids by Feb 1964, when Quitler was born. I want to know what happened in Idaho which drove a young mother with 3 infants in diapers to the wilds of AK which seems somewhat insane.

  • Older_Wiser:

    Yes, I thought it a bit odd that it was being held at the Menards. But I think we know the real reason. Wonder if Track will be there and if people will make the connection?

  • Jeanabella:

    PollyinAK,

    I just read two of Joe’s books, “Fatal Vision” and “Never Enough”, both very interesting and well done!
    Not sure which of his books I’ll read next.

    Jeanabella

  • Dicer:

    She could not fit that on her hands. She got the sharpie and poster board free.

  • Jen:

    Chuck Jr works for Linda Menard. The parents have been pretty close for a long time. Your parents friends never threw your parents parties? It doesn’t shock me they threw them a party. The compound has seen its share of summer activity this year.

  • PalinsHoax:

    I’m sure Palin asks herself “Retreat or Reload?” every morning before she puts her bra on. Her bust size seems to retreat or get reloaded at her whimsy.

  • Heidi3:

    O/T, but I just got a message from Amazon that Levi’s book release date has changed from Sept. 27th to Sept. 20th. Hmmm… quite the auspicious date, I’d say. 🙂

    Yeah, how about that poster board “invitation”, to a picnic at the Menard’s house, no less. The Heath-Palin kinfolk really know how to put the ‘k’ in Klassy, don’t they? In my life’s experience, 50th anniversaries are usually heralded with engraved invitations to fine dining establishments, complete with orchestras and dancing. I must not be a ‘rill’ American, way out here on the Left Coast.

  • Jen:

    It’s Alaska and they are the most down to earth people you will ever meet. Why do liberals feel the need to compare everyone? Isn’t THAT what’s wrong with the world?

    Also, RE: Levi’s book, I think he’s trying to steal Joe’s thunder. Levi knows he isn’t a legit author OR someone who is taken seriously by mainstream society.

    Funny thing is, none of this matters in the grand scheme of things.

  • Lovedove:

    Wow. Joe, I think Levi’s publishers are trying to steal your much deserved thunder with his ghostwritten trash.

  • lilly lily:

    Sarah is cheap, a miser. Lets someone else pay for everything if she can figure out how to do it.

    Look at bitchin about a stick of Jerkey that Todd brought. A millionairess and a stick of jerkey sticks in her craw, so she makes an issue of the thing.

    The Menards are giving the shindig? Very generous, they have their Heath and Palin family ties..

    Sally seems to have carried the burdens of that marriage, the subserviant woman.

    She seems happy enough with her husband.

    Her choice, her life, and she must be delighted with her children.

    Having a “winner” like her daughter Sarah is the iceing on her cake.

  • anAlaskanAlsoII:

    No gifts? Laughable. They’ve got storage facilities stacked up with yet to be opened and itemized private and corporate freebies from all around the world – everyone doing their part to ease the burden of overwhelmingly unfavorable public opinion and press against such nasty people for who they are, not for what they ostensibly represent, ‘conservative values.’

    Bristol hasn’t had to buy diapers, toys, clothes or formula ever. It all comes in the mail, better than cash (cause they don’t have to report that.)

    Maybe the Heath’s ought to donate a large portion of these gifts to the local food banks, charities and whatnot to spread the wealth and give proof to the servant’s hearts they are all so famous for.

  • Mary:

    Yeah, I think I’ll pass on the congrats.

    “no gifts please”. LOL.

  • Lovedove:

    The Palins do donate to food banks. They are charitable people. But since none of you care about the positive stuff, or truth for that matter, you refuse to see any of it.

  • Lisabeth:

    Lol, I thought the same thing but I didn’t want to be no elitist gosh darn it. But the first thing I thought of was what a tacky invitation that is for a 50th. Sarah can afford a classy party but I get the feeling, that she is not a generous giving person.
    It’s just a feeling though. I’d be curious to know if her friends and family find her to be a giving person or not.

  • crystalwolfakacaligrl:

    Is that the grifters handwriting? I guess they will be serving mooseburgers & moosedogs?

  • lee:

    I just finished reading Cruel Doubt. I wonder what happened with the family, and if the daughter, Angela, ever faced any charges. Almost from the start, I thought the daughter was involved.
    Blind Faith is hard to put down.

  • grace creek:

    Odd sounding to me. May be a regional difference. Or are these folks just clueless about appropriateness? I’m in Texas and not from a particularly upscale background, and for my in-laws 40th (wasn’t even that close to them) I worked for a week creating the nicest special event I could put together: food, flowers, china and all the good linen etc. Even without the budget for catering or dining out for that large a group, it was a priority to make it special, not some informal backyard BBQ. So I don’t get it. These people sound like a cross between trailer trash sociopaths and aliens trying to pass as normal. That sign is funny, and a little sad.

  • Carrie:

    Off Topic: I picked up a copy of your book about Ted Kennedy. I still can’t decided if I actually want to read it. I have a special place in my heart for Uncle Teddy. At the same time, you do impeccable research. What if it says something bad about him that would make me change my mind?** Eh, who am I kidding? You know I am going to read it, but that thought did cross my mind before I ordered it. 🙂

    **I am fully aware of his many faults as a human being. This post is contains SARCASM. Trolls, please don’t bring up Chappaquiddick.

  • jcinco:

    Oh Heidi, you just sound so elitist. I suppose you didn’t serve mini-weenies on toothpicks or velveeta on ritz crackers at your daughter’s wedding either. Nor request the guests to bring a side dish & to byob. 🙂

  • jcinco:

    Perhaps stoopid sarah with her servent’s heart and all could take some of it to the remote villages this winter instead another measley plate of cookies and xtian propaganda to the starving first people of Alaska. O/T her reference once again to “not retreat, but reload” on hannity’s leg humping session last night is not being well received by anyone. The “I don’t mean resort to violence” disclaimer wasn’t enough to keep her off the hook. Once again she’s reminded us of the role she plays as ring-leader of those calling for violence in their “veiled threat” fashion. So when does the bus tour start up again? She thinks we forgot..she thinks we’re all as drug addled as her and forget what was said 10 minutes ago.

  • Cindy:

    Joe, I always appreciate you taking the mature route and kindly offering your best wishes when it’s appropriate. I wish your manners would rub off on your readers. A girl can dream. Happy anniversary Chuck and Sally! Enjoy the summer BBQ and time with family and friends.

  • Carrie:

    “Left coast” LMAO! I love that phrase, can I borrow it sometime?

  • Tom:

    I would love to be a fly on the wall when this old man who has turned his house into a shrine of death was being himself.

    my bet is as mentally unstable palin is, her dad is much much worse and probably cringe out loud repulsive to normal folk…………….

  • Olivia:

    If they were married in 1949, they would be celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary.

  • tooshyshy:

    wow. you all are really making me feel like dog doo this morning. i don’t like gatherings or fuss, but picnics and barbeques are okay. especially when small children are around. i think for every anniversary my husband and i have shared, we have had a small PICNIC or BBQ. i guess i don’t deserve to live ’cause i’m trash…? thats what’s being said, right? you all need to tone down your insults, as you’re not just insulting those above. i complain about palin also, but i don’t stoop to her level and stick to the facts. peace to all

  • Kallie in Texas:

    This is bizarre! A cheap poster invitation poorly written with a marker, this certainly doesn’t convey a joyous note for a 50th anniversary. This beyond low. Shame on you, $carah, you have millions and don’t have the sense to throw a dignified party for the parents to whom you refer to as being loved and important? LMAO, next time you have an agenda, maybe they should just use posters/hand scrawled messages to notify everyone!

  • lee:

    Todd should put his manly pants on and go back to work. He could buy all the beef sticks he wants, and not have to listen to the psycho whine.

  • Flying Pig Ranch:

    Sally & Chuckie have Sarah what more could they possibly want or need. Sarah the gift that keeps on giving…..

    OT Annoying voices: Sarah Palin, Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter (her laugh also, too!!!!).

    OT Marcus Bachmann. This is going to get me in trouble but I am going for it. Wasn’t he on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy? Just take a good look at him and don’t you see upscale interior designer? He would make a lovely First Lady. Much better than Tawd.

    The Kindle arrived yesterday. I hope The Selling of the President will be available.

  • grace creek:

    I think the emphasis was on the milestone 50th golden anniversary part. No offense intended.

  • OneMorePoint:

    Wow…. they really are the Wasilla Hillbillies.

    My parents just had their 50th. Printed invitations, held at a very nice winery in the Nor Cal wine country, not the most lavish but certainly classy. I can’t believe with all the money they’ve now got that Scarah and Toad couldn’t pony up and do something better than this. Even at the Best Western next door.

  • Cirrus:

    I am appalled at the lack of basic civility in most of the comments on this thread. Non Alaskans making all these stupid comments about the party and how it should be thrown – could they be anymore ridiculous? The anti Alaskan sentiment grows very weary on us – it’s shallow, full of mythology and resentment. Snip, snipe – so many of you give over your power to those you don’t like just by showing how thin skinned and bratty you appear to be from your comments. Keep that power for yourself, and do something useful with it instead. Manners are not overrated. You are not doing “my side” any favors with being snotty most of the time about anything to do with Palin.

  • jcinco:

    blah, blahblah lou sarah.

  • jcinco:

    I assume none of your children are millionaires. I believe that to be the point. sarah spares no expense when it comes to herself spending what she refers to OPM (other people’s money). Yet, she can’t spring for a nice anniversary party for her parents. If my parents were alive, I was a millionaire and they were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary I would make it special. But that’s just me.

  • Not so much:

    Trust me, if the Palins donated a used tea bag to charity they’d make it a major media event. She even lies about her charitable contributions. She claimed to have donated all the clothes gifted to her by the RNC, but that didn’t happen. Sarah still wears some of those clothes.

    I just don’t get how people can be so completely bamboozled by that woman.

  • tooshyshy:

    you did mean to offend and succeeded. you can’t complain about palins lack of manners and maliciousness and commit the same crime. hasn’t anything been learned from the arizona shootings? i think about that little girl who died EVERYDAY cause my oldest is about her age and i pray that she makes it to adulthood without being bullied, cyber or otherwise. rage against her public statements and policies all you want. there is plenty enough to rage against. but the personal attacks makes you no better than she. let them ‘not retreat and reload’ and they will look the bigger schmucks.

  • Jame doe seeker:

    “I want to know what happened in Idaho which drove a young mother with 3 infants in diapers to the wilds of AK which seems somewhat insane.”

    Not only what drove them to the wilds of Alaska, but to a town that even as recently as 2008 had only 892 people (Skagway: http://www.google.com/publicdata/explore? ds=kf7tgg1uo9ude_&met_y=population&idim=county:02230&dl=en&hl=en&q=population+skagway), an extremely remotely situated and almost exclusively white town with a fairly high cost of living (http://www.city-data.com/city/Skagway-Alaska.html). In 1963, Skagway probably had only a few hundred people. One would have to carefully study a three-dimensional map of the northwest to see just how difficult it would be to make a car trip from Sandpoint, Idaho to Skagway, Alaska in 1963 with 3 babies/toddlers in tow (and before the age of widely available disposable diapers). The distance between them varies from 1671 miles to 1757 miles, depending on which road one might have taken, and gas stations would have been few and far between (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl).

  • jcinco:

    go wash you hair sarah. nothing anti Alaskan in any of the comments. They are anti-palin because she sees fit to continue spewing her hateful rhetoric even after Tucson. She is an inarticulate, fear-mongering know nothing that wants to spew her hate at our president and us real Americans want her to eff off, get it?

  • Flying Pig Ranch:

    So you have never seen bratty or bullying behavior exhibited by any of the Palins? It’s always that eye for an eye stuff…..gettin’ back for bein’ wronged.

    I do not think that any of the comments that have been made have been a negative reflection on the State of Alaska. Every state has it’s share of tacky behavior. We all get poked at about where we’re from or where we are in real time. From sea to sea, coast to coast and even up there in Alaska, theres a wide range of behavior to comment on…..snooty ellites, yuppies, conspicous consumption, nimbys, rednecks, suburbanites, urbanites, crackers and I could go on and on.

    If the Heath/Palin/Menard clan want to have a picnic to celebrate at 50th Anniversary, it is fine with me. I hope they enjoy their day.

  • chele:

    Pay? Just look at the sign, hand written. They have millions and no one bothered to make an elegant sign?!

  • mudmanor:

    I think his publisher and Amazon are hoping we will all buy both books and get free shipping!

  • AnonGuest:

    Did Trig write this announcement? Surely it wasn’t an adult with that handwriting!

  • carollt:

    If you can’t take the heat Sarah, take your thin skin and go home. Playing on the national stage can get rough and people who do not agree with you will have their say. Don’t like it? Go home.

  • carollt:

    I have seen Sarah’s handwriting once or twice and this looks like her handwriting.

  • carollt:

    Sarah is cheap with her own money no doubt. But she had no problem ripping off the RNC for over $200,000 worth of clothes. Imagine what she would do with taxpayer money. Oh that’s right, while she was Governor, she billed the State a daily per diem for living in her own home. And she brought her daughters to New York and ran up a huge tab at a luxury hotel. And on and on her spending goes.

    When it comes to spending other people’s money, Sarah is anything but conservative.

  • NotSarahPalin:

    You should see the hand lettered sign posted on the garbage can at the end of her dirt driveway.

    This is not class. This is trash.

  • dlb44:

    How do you know about donations? Is there a link to their IRS forms that shows their charitable contributions? Why are you so certain that you know the truth? Are you RAM, or Bristol, or Willow?

  • FEDUP!!!:

    Well, Fox Noise has been forewarned, so I bet my house on it that they are busy, busy, busy bees there with destroying/shredding anything that might be incriminating (i.e. they are scrubbing all their hard drives from emails, just like World News did when Scottland Yard came after them.

  • FEDUP!!!:

    YUP! I TOTALLY BELIEVE YOU! Just like she donated a plate of cookies to a village of starving people.

  • FEDUP!!!:

    (Sorry, I didn’t see your comment before I made mine…)

  • FEDUP!!!:

    Got this from palingates:

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0711/59013.html#ixzz1S6uWB5tn

    The figures, provided by treasurer Tim Crawford, are as follows:

    $1,658,897 raised

    $1,591,520 spent

    $1,402,368 cash on hand

    During the period Sarah PAC contributed $65,000 to candidates and donated $18,700 the Young America’s Foundation.

    Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0711/59013.html#ixzz1S7jiHPdn

    So, $arahPAC contributed $65,000 to candidates and donated $18,700 to the YAF, but somehow SPENT $1.6MILLION??? ON WHAT???
    $1.592 miIllion
    – $65K
    – $18.7K
    _______
    1.5073million for herself??? Isn’t that the cost of her Arizona mansion?

  • PollyinAK:

    Thank you Jeanabella and lee!! I really appreciate your input!!! – very much-

  • Chris:

    They can do all the scrubbin and shreddin they want, but there will always be people who have stashed away evidence for a time such as this. Not all Murdoch employee’s are brain dead cold hearted people. I’ll bet with the atmosphere of distrust and no job security there are more than a few who have damaging goods. Hell, I would if I worked for a dishonest self serving jerk like Murdoch and Ailes. Ya gotta be smarter than the evildoers. What goes around comes around.

  • KatieAnnieOakley:

    Joe is in contact with Levi’s publisher, trying to push the date forward so Levi gets a boost in sales. Buyers can bundle their purchase for both books and getting FREE SHIPPING.

    Joe is a nice guy.

  • KatieAnnieOakley:

    Not just a little sad, it’s a whole lot sad. THE $arah Palin is one of their children, and THAT’S the best the Heath kids can do? Guess they just. don’t. know. any. better….

  • KatieAnnieOakley:

    Married to a (former) Alaskan. Just beatin’ on the Palin’s, cause they richly deserve it!

  • Heidi3:

    Mein Gott! Perish the thought! We had Carr’s sesame wafers mit Muenster, and the finest viener schnitzel. However, the open bar bill for 5 hours was a jolt. 🙂

    Nevertheless, as we’re all agreeing, certain events in life simply must be “done right”. Costs will be forgotten, but memories last forever. I actually feel sadness for the Palin family, in that I see no deep regard for family history, tradition, or the decorum which certain life events require. They apparently have no introspection or awareness of how civilized people behave.

  • MO Inkslinger:

    We will have to watch SarahPac expenditures for the third quarter for the catering bill for the party.

  • Shona:

    My intuition tells me that Sarah does not have a very close relationship with her parents. Do you remember the episode on SPAK where they panned for gold and took the found gold to a goldsmith where they had a birthday present made for Sally. They then presented the gold pendant to Sally. A more awkward scene I have rarely seen- Sarah standing in the background looking really uncomfortable while the kids made the presentation. Sally looked really uncomfortable. Not much motherly/daughter love going on there…..

  • MO Inkslinger:

    Poster board and sharpie were charged to SarahPac.

  • craftyz:

    Seriously, right?

    You’ve been MARRIED for FIFTY YEARS.

    Your kid is a MILLIONAIRE.

    That, my friends, deserves a trip to Kinko’s.

    Yes, my pinkie up in the air! Just jealous of my fanciness!! 😉

  • craftyz:

    Well, in all fairness they DID want to use a GOLD sharpie,

    But Sarah said since she was paying, it was too expensive. 🙁

  • craftyz:

    Anniversaries, specifically FIFTY years, is a major FAMILY milestone.

    It is customary (and a welcome gesture of gratitude) for a couple’s CHILDREN to hold their anniversary celebration.

    The Menards could certainly have a celebration for their friends, but that is in no way comparable to a Celebration of their Marriage given by their Children PRODUCED by that marriage.

  • craftyz:

    “he could buy all the beef sticks he wants”

    HAHAHAHA!

    That may be unintentionally, the most hilarious thing I’ve read along the post.
    ~~~~~~~~
    I wasnt’ gonna comment but ugh!
    The mere fact that Scarah thought that THis was a solid argument. She’d been reprimanded before for claiming food prices were too high before they Actually started rising noticeably in the stores. This is one more “retort” she’d been sitting on. for. a. while. psycho.
    Anyway. To even say, “i was ticked off at Todd” and then say it’s b/c the price of the item is too high.
    I’m sorry.
    Isn’t this your husband? The father of your children? Your closest confidant?
    And he is not capable of entering a convenience store and purchasing a FU*KING SNACK without YOUR APPROVAL???
    And yet, knowing what I know of Todd….
    I really, really hope Todd’s life is as horrible as I imagine it to be. =)
