Sarah to Console Tornado Survivors Today

Sarah said last night that she and Todd will travel to Birmingham today to offer solace to those who lost loved ones and property in the recent tornadoes.

“We want these folks in those parts to know that they are not alone in this time, and Americans come together in moments like this to help support and to rebuild,” she said.

I hope a Birmingham journalist will ask Sarah one simple question:  “How much of the $100,000 fee you got last night for being Trig’s mother will you be donating to Alabama tornado victims?”

I doubt that the question will be asked (last night, Sarah took only pre-approved questions), but I think we know what the honest answer would be.

However, I’m sure Sarah’s inspirational words about how sometimes God has to tear down so He can build anew will do more to lift spirits than a mere cash donation.

But here’s another idea:   I happen to know first-hand that Todd has a whole crew of fence-builders on call 24/7 in Wasilla.  Maybe he could send them down for  a couple of weeks to help with rebuilding?  After all, I won’t be returning to Lake Lucille until September.

Incidentally, attendance at Sarah’s speech last night was estimated at between 150-200.  Heck, when the crowd is that small, you don’t have to estimate:  just count ’em.

God to Sarah:  “A hundred and fifty is all you could draw?  You’re wearin’ out your welcome, gal.  Better go home.”

Joe…are you renting the house next door again for the fall? Or just at the Best Western for your book signing?

  • Joe:

    Can’t yet disclose.

  • Melly:

My posts get lost on here. Did you already get my story about Bernie Segal?

  • Melly:

So she of course implies that no one has yet shown “these folks in those parts” that they are not alone…despite Barack’s rapid and concerned response, and the fact that reports so far find storm victims pleased with the help and services they’re getting.

  • Joe:

Yes, and I replied yesterday that that sounded just like Bernie: a classy guy with a sense of humor.

She showed she doesn’t know a thing about Alabamians and
of course she doesn’t give a dam.

I’m sure other communities/states have similar responses. She doesn’t realize because
it isn’t in her. She DOES NOT have a SERVANT’S HEART. She has a greedy’ envious heart!

  • B:

Yeah, Todd and his buddies built a house that looks like an ice rink in their spare time. Just think what wonders they could work for Alabama. And like Alaska and Arizona the state starts and ends with an “a” and that can’t be a coincidence because there aren’t any so their god must want them there.

  • Freesia:

It’s Haiti all over again. She’ll show up and make sure she gets her picture taken. And as it’s the Bible Belt you can bank on it involving some evangelical potentates in the frame to appeal to the Dobson/Graham crowd.

And then she will think of them no more. It’s like her Special Needs advocacy. A poster on another site noted that she talks about what Trig means to her. To her. That’s it. And they were right. When is the last time you heard her give a comprehensive talk (yes – let’s roll our eyes at the word “talk”) about specific programs that she supports in the DS community? Anecdotes about specific events in Trig’s life and milestones he’s reached? Therapy. Praise for individuals who are really making a difference in research or therapy or family support? Never. Nor will she ever. (By the way Mr. McGinnis, are there any records or conversation tidbits from the locals that indicate that child is getting any help at all? Is he enrolled in anything? Anything at all?)

Everybody and everything, any event no matter how challenging or downright tragic is above Sarah’s using. It’s Alabama’s turn.

  • Freesia:

I just saw this at Immoral Minority. Look at the twitter from Sarah:

Please. Pour everything you’ve got into that book. This filthy woman has got to be driven off the stage and back into the obscurity she so richly deserves.

  • Montrealer:

I’d like to see her on Jimmy Carter’s crew; hammer & saw in hand, complete with overalls, hard hat & steel-toed boots. Rebuilding homes in sweltering heat or inclement weather…. without complaint, without monetary compensation.

How about a book signing on the deck of the rented house overlooking the garden and swimming hole and Piper can overlook the deck from her window?

  • ManxMamma:

    I’d love to be there!

  • ManxMamma:

That would be precious. Even if she couldn’t Todd, Track, Bristol and Willow could.

  • Scorpie:

Well, bless her little heart. She’s travelling with Billys’ son and he says it will be a trip for counselling and spritual help.

  • ManxMamma:

    Ditto

  • PMom_GA:

I can hear the howling here in GA – “please get her away from us! haven’t we suffered enough?”

  • karenw729:

The only aide $arah and Franklin will be seeking in Alabama is for themselves: more followers to make donations to their bank accounts. That’s what it’s all about…growing the flock.

  • FrostyAK:

Typical xtians – the people in AL have need of material help and they come in offering the blessings of their mythology. I wonder what they can grift from the people who have lost everything…

  • I hope you’re going to be back at the house next door to Sarah…that’ll get her so pissed off and Toad will have to build a new fence…didn’t the old fence come down?

  • EatMoreFish:

I wonder if $arah and Graham will bring cookies to the tornado victims — like $he did the one time she visited villagers in frigid western Alaska who were being forced to choose between food and fuel one winter when $he was ‘governor’. Yep, fly in and out on a private plane, shake a few hands, pat a few heads, pose for pictures and then get out as fast as you can! That’s $arah’s MO before she heads back into hiding.

  • Tewise:

She needs to stay out of Ga. we don’t need her here. We are suffering enough without that petty, shallow, egotistical vamp coming here.

  • carollt:

I am very happy and rather relieved to see that Mrs. Palin’s ability to draw a crowd has been diminished. I am sure the sponsor lost money. And that is a good thing because the only reason why Mrs. Palin has been hired is to draw a crowd. No crowd – no more speaking engagements.

If any of the tornado victims expect a donation from $arah, they will be disappointed. I have never met the woman, but she doesn’t seem like the charitable type. I think she may need to hold on to that money, however. Judging by the size of the crowd last night and in Colorado, I think her days of the easy money on the speaking circuit may be coming to an end.

  • I’m guessing the crew of fencebuilders Toadie has on call 24/7 all work at Spenard Builders Supply. Am I right?

  • Joe:

I think he has a few in Dillingham he can call in on short notice.

    –Joe

  • KatzKids:

And most importantly – with no cameras. That’s a mission impossible.
