Sarah and Jerry Boykin Share Stage at Colorado Christian U.//UPDATE//UPDATE 1.1

The Colorado Independent offers a fine preview of this “patriotic/Christian” event.

Conservatives4Palin site promised live streaming, but all it does is crash my browser.

Probably God telling me not to bother paying attention.

Even God must have limits when it comes to Sarahspeak.

UPDATE:

Jason Salzman at http://bigmedia.org writes that “neither Boykin nor Palin is going to discuss Islam,” and says: “She and Boykin should be asked the question that the organizer of tonight’s event posed but refused to answer, ‘Can a good Muslim be a good American?'”

Don’t hold your breath for either the question or answer. Although I think we know that if they were honest, both Palin and Boykin would have to answer, “No.” Their God is for evangelical Christian dominionists only. It’s not a big tent. Leave your shoes and rationality at the door before entering. But bring your guns, willful ignorance, intolerance and cross-hair maps. Donations to the cause gratefully accepted–especially by Sarah.

UPDATE 1.1

ABC News’ Claton Sandell reports from Lakewood, Colo.:

Sarah Palin gave passing praise to President Obama’s “decisive leadership” in the operation to kill Osama bin Laden, though in a speech here Monday night the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate did not once use Obama’s name.

“We want to thank our president,” Palin said, but then she quickly shifted focus to the previous administration for having laid the groundwork.

“We thank President Bush for having made the right calls to set up this victory,” Palin told a cheering crowd.

So Sarah mentioned Bush by name, but not Obama.  One thing about people devoid of class:  they’re consistent.

Hey, tomorrow is a new day.  And Sarah will get up in the morning and realize that she’ll have to live with herself throughout it.

No wonder–as I report in THE ROGUE–she used to come home when she was mayor of Wasilla and go to bed at 4 p.m. with a box of chocolates and a handful of celebrity picture magazines.

Living with that self for sixteen hours a day would exhaust any of us.

This has to be the top of the trajectory for Palin. She shines in a room full of crazy. Why oh why won’t she just go and get herself a following on CBN and be done with it? She would never have to answer to anyone but her base and, for the rest of us, she would be invisible except for the occasional slip of the TV remote button.

As to Boykin: He is a truly sick man. My grandfather who eagerly served our nation in two world wars would be so shocked by Boykin — and that he is allowed to wear his uniform while spouting such garbage.

  • Freesia:

In other words she wasted oxygen that her mouth breathers desperately need. Brain cells dying all over the place.

  • Susan:

I simply do not recognize the lessons and teachings of Jesus Christ when I witness the conduct of these professed “Christians”. Jesus as I understand him, forgives them, me, I’m not quite there yet.

  • zenna:

Yet another Convention for Ignorant Racists.

Dumb too, as they hand over their cash yet again to Sarah the Fraud.

  • Andrea:

Is that Boykin in the picture? Really??

My first glance at it made me think it was a Hitler wanna-be… the shadow under his nose looks like the ol’ Hitler moustache.

Finally, the lighting captures his true evangelical spirit!

  • lee:

I am going to finish reading Blind Faith. As long as evil people hand over money to this dim bulb, she will say whatever she is told to say.

  • Freesia:

You’re not seeing the lessons of Jesus Christ in Sarah. You’re seeing the marketing of Jesus Christ. It’s a business.

And all the people who support her after everything she’s shown and done from the vanity to the greed, to the hate mongering to the race baiting, to saying one thing and doing the opposite, to espousing values she does not live and denigrating the people who actually do live them (that’s for you President Obama and your lovely family) – well her supporters aren’t Christians either. Not at this point. They’re what Andrew Sullivan pegs as “Christianists”. Christianity for them is not about you (meaning the other person they should be thinking about) and it’s certainly not about Christ. It’s about themselves. It’s a lucrative form of navel gazing and self massage. Jesus would weep.

You don’t recognize the lessons of Christ in Sarah because they aren’t there. The only thing there is Sarah. There’s no room for Christ inside Sarah. The ego takes up all the available space.

  • orangetriangle:

I love all of your posts, Freesia….so well written and right on target.

  • J M:

That washington post piece illustrates Sarah very well in a truthful light. She’s very soft and upbeat in her “down time”. She’s everyones friend, always compassionate. As a politician, one cannot appear this way. Look at how Obama was treated when he lacks overt compassion in his voice and face. On the other hand, Bush, always the character, garnered little respect for sounding like a neighbor rather than a Presidential figure.

I think, I hope you will all get a chance to meet Sarah as a person. You’re really missing out, and you’re dead wrong on characterizing her as hateful and blackhearted.

  • Oh my, the hate and lies she spews is never ending. I’m so, so sick of her and her supporters.

  • Molly_WI:

I had the same exact reaction when I saw the photo. Weird, huh?

  • Sir Guestalot:

I pray that I’m a blessed and lucky enough person to NEVER have to meet Sarah Palin. Please, God, let it be so. She says such horrible things in public about our President and about our country. She pals around with known secessionists and racists. She put crosshairs on Gabby Giffords’ district on Facebook. Please, Lord, keep Sarah Palin away from me!

  • Jewels:

One more $100,000 speech to give tomorrow… you know, for a cause near and dear to her heart. The box of chocolates and celebrity picture magazines will have to wait one more day. http://blog.al.com/live/2011/04/sarah_palin_fundraiser_tickets.html

  • Molly_WI:

Gosh, I am so sorry I missed seeing Sarah’s “soft” side. I’ve seen/read about many circumstances where she comes off as a jealous, vengeful, idiotic, lying sack of………..oh, so you mean that was all an act? You know, I did ponder that possibility when she gave that speech at the RNC, but then what happened is that everything else I possibly dug up about her and heard from her, and witnessed of her reinforced my opinion that, yeah, she is a jealous, vengeful, idiotic, lying sack of ……….well, you know.

How do you know, then, that the “soft” side of her isn’t the act? How come the soft side never ever once peeks through to the outside in public? She is one mighty fine actress. That was great how she didn’t allow one iota of softness to break through when she was dissing the teacher up in Ahlassska who dared to hold the “WORST GOVERNOR EVER” sign. Again, after Gabby Giffords was shot, and Sarah’s people had coincidentally put cross hairs/”surveyors symbols” over her district, where was Sarah’s “soft” “compassionate” side to acknowledge that she could understand why some people might be upset and how sorry she was if her website in the slightest may have contributed to the actions of a destructive person. Hmm, and when her almost son-in-law decided to make a little money, I did not witness the compassionate, caring motherly figure speaking about him in a kind, compassionate manner, I heard her speak of him on national television in her most snarky hateful blackhearted tone. Nice way to endear yourself to the man who is and shall always be your grandson’s father.

Also, too, is the dumb thing an act too? Because I think she can drop that now.

    Waiting……….

Palin doctrine is Steve Miller song”,Go on take the money and run”.Palin = pos with legs.

The shrub gave up on bin Laden when he realized it wasn’t going to be easy to find him.President Obama was the one that restarted the hunt.Republicans are such liars and losers. We need to ban them.It should be illegal to be a republican.

  • Susan:

    J. M., I suspect you see what you believe.

Sarah Palin does not rate a spot on my bucket list. I absolutely do not want to meet her, and in fact it would be best for the both of us if that never happened. I long ago gave up looking for something redeeming in or about Sarah Palin. Personally, I think she needs serious medical intervention, psychiatrically.

  • Susan:

Personally, I no longer refer to them as the GOP, but instead the RRR (rich, radical and racist).

  • minnesotamud:

    Excellent post/comment, Molly.

  • FrostyAK:

I’ve met her. I live 10 miles from the lake. I chose to only meet her once – for many of the reasons I’m sure Joe will be emphasizing in his book.

    You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear…

  • lee:

Is the wild ride an example of her soft side? No concern for the infant, or all others on board the airplane.

  • lilybart:

Sociopaths are always charming in person. She is not an exception.

  • Medic8862:

Thank you so much Freesia. You summed up what I have been trying to express to people I know for a long time.

  • lilly lily:

Grifters and cons count on the impression they make initially to sucker you into the con. Sarah Palin wanted to be mayor, thats why she spewed lies (he’s jewish, they are married, he’s this, he’s that) knowing all the while that the former mayor wasn’t what she said he was. She started out her political career as a liar, con artist, grifter and no nothing with a big mouth. And that is how she is ending her career in politics.

A falling smallish meteorite that fizzles out. Small, but with the hottest air around.

She better take her millions and hunker down for a while in Arizona, nagging Tripp for attention.

I think the lack of an and in her thanking our President, President Bush was not an oversite, but meant as a dog call which she is notorious each and every time she speaks.

  • Mary:

No, I love that song. I will not associate it with the Grifter Granny 😉

I wish she would “go on”, though! Shoo, scat, be gone!
