Increasingly Desperate, Sarah Palin Supporters Pin Hopes on New Movie

As they see even what used to be her base losing interest in Sarah as Queen Esther–and as a presidential candidate–her shrinking hard core of unblinkingly blind zealots is praying out loud that the propaganda film made by one of their own can somehow overcome all that Sarah herself has done over the past two-and-a-half years to make herself irrelevant, laughing all the way to the bank.

The serious neo-cons, such as Kristol, Barnes and Krauthammer, whom she so successfully seduced in 2008, have abandoned her.

To them, she’s become a dirty joke they wish they hadn’t told.

Most of the Tea Partiers have given up on her, too, transferring their affections to Bachmann, while dreaming of Perry.

This leaves Sarah increasingly isolated, no more a “Mama Grizzly,” but a polar bear marooned on an inexorably shrinking ice floe (but one, she will assure us, that isn’t melting because of man made global warming.)

God used to open doors for her.  Now she needs a deus ex machina just to keep herself afloat.

The dwindling few who still proudly proclaim themselves as cult members see “The Undefeated” as their last best hope.

See this frantic call to arms–or at least to the box office–at The Daily Caller.

Or listen to the last gasps of the drowning at Conservatives4Palin, such as this and this.

As if a propaganda film could save her now.

For the record, Sarah Palin is not undefeated. She was not only defeated as McCain’s running mate in 2008, but she was defeated in her race for lieutenant governor of Alaksa in 2004.

“The Twice-Defeated” would be a more accurate title.

Not that accuracy has ever mattered to Sarah.

Turn Back the Clock: FENCE DAY was 1 Year Ago Tomorrow //UPDATE: FENCE DAY, 2011, in Scottsdale

How time flies.  Already it’s been a year since Sarah Palin accused me of peering into Piper’s bedroom window, Glenn Beck first called me a stalker and Todd Palin had a work crew double the height of the ten-foot fence between the Palins’ property and the lot on which my rented house stood.

As I write in THE ROGUE about May 25, 2010:

“All day, I hear hammering and sawing.  Todd has about twelve guys throwing up a new fence that’s roughly twice the height of the old one.  I’m all in favor of the fence.  Maybe once it’s up, Sarah will chill and we can both get on with our business.  No one brings over a blueberry pie.”

Sarah had written on Facebook the night before, “Maybe we’ll welcome him with a homemade blueberry pie tomorrow so he’ll know how friendly Alaskans are.”

Not surprisingly, she didn’t.

In fact, as tweets leaked to The Daily Caller demonstrate, Sarah’s chief enforcer, Rebecca Mansour, had a quite different idea:

May 25, 2010 5:35:46:  Time to find a way to go medieval on this McGinniss. Don’t be fooled by the light tone of the FB post. The BigBoss is so upset by this.

5:36:56:  It quite broke my heart to get the emails from her about this. She feel like big brother is watching her & her family…

16:00:56:  I was thinking…of mailing him a dead fish.

I never got the dead fish, either.  But I’d say Mansour, no doubt smiling out of the other side of her face today, is a dead duck in Palinland.

Oh, by the way, the first strong wind last fall blew down the fence.  Todd’s about as capable a builder as Sarah is a fisherwoman.

UPDATE:

It’s been rumored since last week that Sarah and Todd have bought a new home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

I believe it. Especially after seeing this photo, sent by commenter “Jewels” to whom I’m, of course, grateful.

Looks mighty like a new fence going up around the house, doesn’t it?

I hope Todd and the gang do a better job with this one.  You think Wasilla gets windy?  Check this Fox News story about wind damage in Scottsdale last year:

Winds Damage Cars at Auction: MyFoxPHOENIX.com

And remember, Sarah, it’s an ill wind that blows nobody good.

Sarah and Jerry Boykin Share Stage at Colorado Christian U.//UPDATE//UPDATE 1.1

The Colorado Independent offers a fine preview of this “patriotic/Christian” event.

Conservatives4Palin site promised live streaming, but all it does is crash my browser.

Probably God telling me not to bother paying attention.

Even God must have limits when it comes to Sarahspeak.

UPDATE:

Jason Salzman at http://bigmedia.org writes that “neither Boykin nor Palin is going to discuss Islam,” and says: “She and Boykin should be asked the question that the organizer of tonight’s event posed but refused to answer, ‘Can a good Muslim be a good American?'”

Don’t hold your breath for either the question or answer. Although I think we know that if they were honest, both Palin and Boykin would have to answer, “No.” Their God is for evangelical Christian dominionists only. It’s not a big tent. Leave your shoes and rationality at the door before entering. But bring your guns, willful ignorance, intolerance and cross-hair maps. Donations to the cause gratefully accepted–especially by Sarah.

UPDATE 1.1

ABC News’ Claton Sandell reports from Lakewood, Colo.:

Sarah Palin gave passing praise to President Obama’s “decisive leadership” in the operation to kill Osama bin Laden, though in a speech here Monday night the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate did not once use Obama’s name.

“We want to thank our president,” Palin said, but then she quickly shifted focus to the previous administration for having laid the groundwork.

“We thank President Bush for having made the right calls to set up this victory,” Palin told a cheering crowd.

So Sarah mentioned Bush by name, but not Obama.  One thing about people devoid of class:  they’re consistent.

Hey, tomorrow is a new day.  And Sarah will get up in the morning and realize that she’ll have to live with herself throughout it.

No wonder–as I report in THE ROGUE–she used to come home when she was mayor of Wasilla and go to bed at 4 p.m. with a box of chocolates and a handful of celebrity picture magazines.

Living with that self for sixteen hours a day would exhaust any of us.

From Chicago, on the road: Happy Birthday!

Conservatives4Palin wishes Trig a happy third birthday. As do I, and as I’m sure all of us do.

I’ll be back with you on Friday.

Thought this was a good week to take care of some personal stuff.

Wrong again.

“Just when I thought I was out…they pull me back in.”
